A Blanket Can Be a Lifeline – Albatross Care Blanket Drive Gains Momentum…
As the Cape winter tightens its grip with bitter winds and icy rains, the Albatross Care Blanket Drive, launched in mid-June, is already gaining momentum — and the warmth is starting to spread. Donations have officially started coming in, with our first big batch arriving this week: several bags filled with comfort, compassion, and care. And with another cold front on the way, the timing couldn’t be more urgent….
Not too sure about anyone else but my cold is cold! It’s hard to explain the cold until you’ve felt it settle into your bones, especially when there’s no roof overhead. For many in our communities – particularly vulnerable children and those living without stable shelter – winter is not just uncomfortable. It’s dangerous.
That’s why Albatross Care, in partnership with Albatross Transport, is stepping in to help. Our transport team will assist with both the collection and delivery of donated blankets, ensuring they reach those who need them most – quickly and safely.
One blanket. One small gesture. It could be the difference between surviving the night or not.
We’re calling on everyone who can spare a little warmth to get involved. Whether it’s a single blanket or a few extras from home, your donation will go directly into the arms of someone who needs it.
